“Below is information on two Medicaid Managed Care policy papers.

First, DHHS today released its latest policy paper, “Data Strategy to Support the Advanced Medical Home Program in North Carolina.” This paper outlines the Department’s strategy to oversee PHP data sharing with AMH practices. In addition to the components of our data strategy, the paper also includes guiding principles, the role of Clinically Integrated Networks (CINs) and other partners, security and privacy standards, and PHP and AMH accountability.

Public comments are due midnight, Aug. 20, 2018, and can be sent to Medicaid.Transformation@dhhs.nc.gov. Aaron McKethan is your contact for the content of this paper.

Second, the policy paper “North Carolina Medicaid Managed Care Updates” is in its final round of approvals and is scheduled to be posted by the end of Monday. This paper will supplement information released in prior papers and is specific to Standard Benefit Plans. Topics include considerations for Provider-Led Entities (PLEs), a revision to the auto-assignment approach, treatment of partners and subcontractor arrangements in the evaluation of PHP RFP responses, and performance bond requirements to protect the financial interest of the state and its stakeholders.”
